these songs, in chronological order, recount two of the hardest weeks of my life. and counting..
failure flowers is about loss, grief and mourning; a long cold montreal winter and what it's like to be missing the person you love in these conditions. wanting to talk but being silenced by powerful and mysterious forces out of your control.
much of it takes place in a strange basement space with a crazy leaky faucet where i live, and on the long walks i take at night in the snow laden local park to collect my thoughts and assuage my despair.
those are the characters and the setting, but really this album is an ode to love and to it's awesome power. how it can persist through the worst adversity. and the terrifying realization that it can torture you beyond any point previously imagined. failure flowers is about turning unbearable pain and regret into beauty and lessons learned for the future. hopefully the beauty will help you remember the lessons as much as the agony...
